Sarah Jessop grew up in Massachusetts and on the coast of Maine. Early connection with ocean, soil, and warm mammals fueled a strong whimsey engine. Drawing and painting feel like physical improvisation and she is grateful to improvisation masters Nancy Stark Smith (movement) and Rhiannon (voice) for helping free the early rumble of creative life. Sarah is interested in the specific and individual life in things. She is currently branching out from animals into plants, ancient creatures, rocks, trees, and microbes. Sarah is also a vocalist and Assistant Professor of Theatre and Voice at Boston Conservatory.
