Sarah Jessop is a painter, singer, and Assistant Professor of Theater at Boston Conservatory. She grew up in Massachusetts and mid-coast Maine. Early connection with ocean, soil, and warm mammals was a refuge and fueled a strong engine for cultivating whimsy and delight. Sarah is interested in the specific and individual life of other beings, currently branching out from animals and people to plants, ancient creatures, rocks, trees, and microbes. Drawing and painting feel like physical improvisation and she is grateful to voice and movement teachers Nancy Stark Smith, Rhiannon, and Nancy Houfek for helping free up the early rumble of creative life.
